North Carolina - Activating Citizenship Through Service
(NC-ACTS)

"NC-ACTS! stands for North Carolina-Activating Citizenship Through Service! This program, sponsored by North Carolina Campus Compact, began in August 2004 and is funded through a grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS).  The program is designed to engage individual students on NC Campus Compact member campuses in direct service to the community while connecting them to a larger state service network."

"After completing 300 service hours in one academic year, a student is eligible for an Educational Award of $1,000 which can be applied towards outstanding student loans or the cost of attendance at a college or university."
