Residence Life Staff
The office of Residence Life is a department within the division of Student Affairs. Residence Life employs 25 staff members including a Director, four live-in Residence Hall Directors (RHD), and 20 Resident Advisors (RA).
Director of Residence Life
Matthew Long; MEd.
I am pleased to be serving in the capacity of Director of Residence Life. Collectively, I have nearly a decade of higher education work experience. After completing a Bachelors degree in Psychology at Eastern Michigan University I interned for another year there with a student organization. I then moved to North Carolina with my family and obtained a Master of Education at North Carolina State University while working as a Residence Director for a 500 bed residence hall. After my graduate work I entered the non-profit work force for three years and then moved into fundraising for a short time before taking over the roll of Director at Greensboro College.
My wife, Katie, and I have been married for more than eight years and we have four beautiful children.
Please feel free to visit the office of Residence Life in 213 Main Building anytime. You can also reach me by telephone at campus extension 625 or via email at reslife@greensborocollege.edu.
I am dedicated to the Mission of Residence Life at Greensboro College and look forward to meeting you soon.
