Greensboro College continues to look for new and effective ways to ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors on campus. We are committed to providing an environment that is safe and secure. However, emergency situations and weather-related events can occur at any time, no matter your surroundings.

Greensboro College has a new, state-of-the-art mass notification system in place to instantly notify all registered users. The system called, GC Alert, sends text and voice messages to cell phones, landline phones, wireless PDAs and smartphones. It’s also designed for e-mail alerts and iGoogle, MyAOL or My Yahoo! pages.

Greensboro College will also post emergency messages on the College Web site and through broadcast e-mails.

Please register – it only takes a minute and the service is free. Your cell phone provider may charge a fee for delivery of text messages based on your current calling plan.

This is the surest way for you to receive notifications critical to your safety. Simply go to GC Alert where you can register. This is voluntary and you may choose to opt-in or opt-out at any time.

Once you sign up, you can add additional services such as an e-mail address not registered at Greensboro College, or two other text messaging devices. You can also edit your contact information at any time. The choice is yours!
