Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia is the full online version of the popular general encyclopedia.
 
 CQ Researcher is an online global current events reference series.  Articles are well constructed and extensive.
 
• Gale Virtual Reference is a collection of subject encyclopedias and other general e-books.

 Google Scholar allows you to do keyword searches for scholarly publications, including: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles.
 
Directory of Open Access Journals links you to free scholarly journals online.  You can browse by subject or search for journals by keyword in the title.
 
Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations gives you access to electronic versions of graduate and undergraduate theses and dissertations from over 75 universities, worldwide.
