Gene Edwards Jones '58 Dear GC alumni, Our alma mater is celebrating 170+ years of educating in preparation for a life of fulfillment and service to others. I was born and reared in a Methodist parsonage in Western North Carolina by parents who introduced Greensboro College to me as the best place for a college education. Since my graduation in 1958, my husband Fred Jones worked at GC from 1962 to 1985. Also, our children, Anne Moir Jones Hurd 1981 and Thom Jones 1984 are College Alumni and now our granddaughter, Kelly Flora, is a student. I can still recommend our beloved institution to any and all. I hope each of you will spread the good word about our alma mater and encourage fine young people to come on campus for a visit. Once here, they will know that "They belong here!" Your College will always need your support through your prayers, your presence, your service, and your GIFTS. Your contribution is important. The percentage of alumni giving back says a lot to those outside the Greensboro College experience who might support us.
